What is Landscaping?

The process of making a garden or other piece of land more attractive by altering the existing design, adding ornamental features, and planting trees and shrubs.

Typically when we talk about landscape people have thought of gardening. But the gardening involves only the plants in a space, whereas the interior landscape involves design, planning and maintenance. Both gardener and landscape design can sketch a design, list of plants, harvesting of plants etc.

Interior Landscaping

     Landscaping is a very wide subject to discuss and have so many types and ways   to implement, but here i would like to mention only few of them.

-          Green Garden

Green gardening attempts to minimize the impact of gardening on the environment. The key in maintaining an eco-friendly garden is to minimize disturbance to the environment, and keep things simple. Matching plants to climate and soil conditions.

-          Stone Scaping

Landscaping with stone, the interaction it generates between the static (stone) and the dynamic (plants), makes a landscape design lively and exciting.

Stone and boulders are used in landscaping as:

·       A structural element to support terraced slopes, frame raised planting beds or building specialty structures.
Example:  garden retaining walls or outdoor fireplaces

·       A formal element to define different outdoor spaces and the connections between them.
Example: patio and pool decks, retaining walls (also used as a structural element), stepping stone paths and walkways

·       A compositional or decorative element in and among plants or as a stand-alone landscaping feature. Example: garden waterfalls

-          Holy Scaping

In Indian culture there are few plants that are considered holy and lucky for the entire house. We also use statues at some corner or center places.

-          Horticulture

Horticulture in which we deals with planting of ornamental plants in such a way that it creates a picturesque effect. Landscape gardening can also be defined as the beautification of a tract of land having a house or other object of interest on it.

-          Floating Gardening

Floating gardening are easy to build and can provide a tremendous amount of nutritious vegetables for home use.The water garden cleans up the canal by filtering the toxins and pollutants out of the water and putting oxygen back into it.  This garden can also be used in other water bodies that need cleaning.  It is made entirely of natural materials and is fairly simple to make.

-          Water Scaping

It’s a kind of aquatic gardens, fish ponds, waterfall are some of examples of this type of landscaping.
