Starting career as an Interior Designer...

This is Monali Karande from Pune, working as Professional Interior Designer. I would like to welcome you all in my first blog post.

When the first time I got an thought in mind about the blogging that time I was thinking to start with some of interior topics or projects but I think it would be good to start with what's the Interior Designer and Interior Decorator. Both seems similar but having different meaning and areas to work with.

Interior Designer Vs Interior Decorator 

Many people use the terms “interior design” and “interior decorating” interchangeably, but these professions differ in critical ways. Interior design is the art and science of understanding people’s behavior to create functional spaces within a building. Decoration is the furnishing or adorning of a space with fashionable or beautiful things. In short, interior designers may decorate, but decorators do not design. Interior designers apply creative and technical solutions within a structure that are functional, attractive and beneficial to the occupants’ quality of life and culture.

Activity

Interior Design Designers can be comfortable with space planning and help design and renovate interiors—from drawing up the initial floor plans to placing the last decorative accent. Designers don't just enhance the look; they also enhance the function of a room. Interior designers often work closely with architects and contractors to achieve the look the client desires, whether that client is designing a residential home, an office, a hotel, or any other interior space.

Interior Decorating Good decorators can help clients decide on a style, choose a color scheme, purchase furniture, and accessories. They’re also often brought into an existing space that needs to be updated.
